Remodeling a Small Guest Bathroom

Do you happen to have a small guest bathroom in your home? If so, it may still have the same look from years ago and you may want to give it a bit of an update. When you are remodeling a small guest bathroom, there are many things to keep in mind. You have all the challenges that come with doing a small bathroom remodel, and then you also need to make sure the bathroom is nice and functional for guests to use. Here are some tips that can help you make the most out of your small guest bathroom when you remodel it.

Use Clean Lines
First of all, when you are remodeling your small guest bath, make sure that you use clean lines. This is not the time to get overly fancy or you will just make the bathroom look cluttered and overdone. Go with simple fixtures and bathroom furniture so you get a clean look that makes the most of the space that you have available.

Create a Feeling of Space with Mirrors
Since the bathroom is already very small, use mirrors to create a feeling of space within the bathroom. A couple well placed mirrors with the right lighting can definitely make the bathroom seem to be a lot bigger. An added bonus is that guests will be able to take care of their grooming needs easily with these nice mirrors and the good lighting.

Use Light Colors
If you go with dark colors in the small bathroom, you'll only end up making the bathroom look even smaller. Use light colors for most of the bathroom to make the room appear bigger. You can use darker accents, but for the floors and walls the lighter colors are going to open up the room and give it a larger appearance as well as a fresh look for the bathroom.

Keep the Sink Small but Functional
Since you don't have too much space to work with, you won't want a huge sink. Go with a sink that is fairly small, but remember to keep it functional too. Having some storage space under the sink is a great idea, especially since you may not have anywhere else in the small bathroom to actually store anything.

Consider a Corner Standing Shower
Last of all, when you are remodeling a small guest bathroom, it's a good idea to consider a corner standing shower. Many bathrooms are so small that a tub is out of the question and takes up too much room. However, a corner standing shower won't take up much room but will still allow your guests to enjoy a warm shower.

These are just a few ideas that can be very helpful when it comes to remodeling a small guest bathroom. This way you make the bathroom look bigger, it looks up to date and beautiful, yet it is still functional for your guests as well.
