Tile - Bathroom Fixes

Bathroom remodeling is not a very hard project. If you know a little about using grout and laying tile, you can do it yourself. If you are good at do–it–yourself jobs but new at laying tile, you should do research either on the internet by just typing “bathroom help” in your navigation bar, or you can check with the tile employee at your local home improvement store, they are very knowledgeable, and will be able to help you out tremendously. They can even make a list of tools that you will need for your bathroom ideas.

If you are unsure as to what you would like to do to your bathroom, consider using tile not only on your floors or just so high up the bathroom wall, but also on the sink and counter tops. Although this has been the traditional way people have used bathroom tiles in the past. For instance, if you have installed a new bathroom sink and chosen one that was brown in color, you can choose a brown small mosaic type of tile that will match your new sink, and have a lighter color of brown tile on the sink top that will bring out the color of the sink and the splashguard tiles.

Perhaps you would like a mosaic design on the opposite wall, you should use a lighter color to reflect the majority of the light in the bathroom, and for the mosaic, and you could use the same tile colors that you did the bathroom sink counter and the splashguard. A design such as in the center of the mosaic wall, you could create a diamond shape using two offset colors then use something like a white (for the light reflection), then for an inside boarder you could use two rows of the same color tiles from the splash guard to lay two small rows of tile approximately 6 to 8 inches from the edge of the wall to 6 to 8 inches from the other end of the wall. Then also take two tiles wide to go down the wall on both sides to form a large rectangle. The edges of the bathroom wall would need to be white. This is just an example of some of the bathroom ideas that you can come up with. Of course, you can create your own personal design. Bathroom remodeling is only limited to your imagination.

Bathroom tiles come in different codes that tells the tiles resistance to traffic and the amount of moisture that it can withstand. When you are choosing your bathroom tiles, be sure to check these codes. The tiles on the walls will not have to be coded for light or heavy traffic, but more for the amount of moisture that will be getting on the tiles. However, tiles that are to be used in the shower stall or the bathtub splashguard would have to use the highest rated code for moisture.

Perhaps you would like the sink counter top to have a larger tile look than the mosaic tile that you have used on the mosaic wall. You can choose a tile that actually looks like real bricks. And you can still match the colors to the wall and splashguard over the bathroom sink.

You may decide to use a much larger bathroom tile on the floor. You can choose to use tiles that are as large as 24 inches. The best tiles to use would be coded for high traffic, are resistant to stains, and easy to clean.

Choosing the type of floor tile to use is just a simple task of making a trip to the home improvement store and checking out what styles and colors they have. If you are not happy with what the store has to offer, you can check on the internet. There are many websites that sell a vast variety of floor tiles that you will be happy about. These websites use a secure network that for your protection and does not sell your information to anyone else. They also have different types of shipping from a fast shipment to the usual delivery method.
